A 25-year old woman reportedly infected with the AIDS virus, jumped off a three-story building in Pirmuhani area in Patna to end her life while causing a sensation in the area on Thursday.
Identified as Seema Khatri, the woman who worked at the People Living with HIV/AIDS Society (PLWHAS) near Uma Cinema under Kadam Kuan police station, jumped from her office and died as soon as she hit the ground three-story below, the police said.
Her husband Gyan Ranjan Prasad, who is also infected with the AIDS virus, reportedly lived in the PLWHAS building with his wife, the police said.
The police found a suicide note with the woman claiming responsibility for her death.
Her body was sent to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for an autopsy, Kadam Kuan police station in-charge Ajay Kumar Singh said.
People in the area who knew her said she had often complained about being tired of her life trying to deal with AIDS.
