Coaching Institute manager Shot Dead in Patna
Patna: Nov. 3, 2007
Contradicting the claims of good governance by the Nitish government, criminals in Rajiv Nagar in Patna on Saturday shot and killed the 65-year old manager and principal of Mamata Institute of Technology Lalitanand Sharma in his office chamber causing a panic at the school.
As reported, two youths on a motorcycle arrived at the institute at around 10:00 am and asked to see the principal.
While one person stayed outside with the getaway vehicle, the other walked into the office of Sharma and showered him with bullets with pistols in each hand.
The criminals then fled before the police could arrive.
Sharma was rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) where he was declared dead on arrival.
While extortion is not seen as the cause of Sharma's murder the police are investigating the case from various angles including family dispute, City Superintendent of Police (SP) Anwar Hussain said.
