RJD Continues Protest against the Nitish Government
Patna: Nov. 4, 2007
Determined to derail the Nitish-led NDA government in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders in Patna on Sunday staged dharnas at the Income Tax roundabout and Kargil Chowk to demand resignation from the Chief Minister on moral grounds on Anant Singh issue and death sentence for the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Led by party district president Devmuni Singh Yadav and Khurshid Alam Siddiqui, the RJD leaders said they would intensify their agitation in Bihar where the government had utterly failed in controlling crimes while also providing moral support to criminals like Anant Singh and others.
Marching from Sabji Bagh to Kargil Chowk, the protestors said since Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been caught with his hands in the cookie jar as proved by the recent Tehelka tapes, he should be tried and sent to the death chamber for inciting riots in Gujarat that resulted in the loss of thousands of Muslim lives in that state.
Vowing to intensify their stir, the RJD leaders said the party would go to each village in Bihar and expose the true nature of the NDA government which was against the minorities as indicated by its failure to condemn the Modi government in Bihar.
