Rabri's Security Guards Clash with the CM's Guards
Patna: Nov. 5, 2007
Tej Pratap, the son of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi, on Monday allegedly threatened to get the security officers suspended when he was stopped by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's guards causing a riot-like situation in the city's most VIP area.
If sources are to be believed, Lalu's supporters tried to break the security cordon outside the Chief Minister's residence on 1 Anne Marg and clashed with the security officials in an attempt to establish supremacy.
The incident occurred when Yadavs' son was returning home at around noon. He was stopped by Constable Deepak Kumar and while things were being sorted out, Bhola Yadav, the OSD of Lalu Prasad Yadav, came out in a threatening manner and engaged in verbal abuse with the constable.
The constable said the leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi came out of her residence with a stick in her hand and threatened to beat him up and have him and other security guards suspended if they ever bothered her son again.
Tej Pratap also accused the security officers of treating him in an abusive manner that led to the flaring up of the situation.
City Superintendent of Police (SP) Anwar Hussain said the police were investigating the case.
An angry Lalu Yadav suggested Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take up his weekly 'janata darbar nautanki' elsewhere as it caused inconvenience to his family members and guests.
