Two More Arrested in Reporters Assault Case

Vipin Kumar Singh surrenders in the reporters assault case. Photo by Shashi UttamThe police in Patna on Monday under Pirbahore police station, arrested builder Mukesh Singh wanted in connection with the assault on press reporters at Janata Dal (U) legislator Anant Singh's house last Thursday.

As reported, following tips from unidentified sources, a special police team led by Pirbahore police station in-charge Nissar Ahmed, put road blocks around Gandhi Maidan, the civil court premises, and the Ashok Rajpath.

Soon Mukesh Singh's Sumo vehicle was seen passing by the Kulharia Complex.

The police surrounded the vehicle and took Singh into custody without any incident.

Meanwhile, yet another absconder in the case Vipin Kumar Singh, feeling the noose tightening around his neck as well, quietly gave up in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Raghavendra Kumar Singh who sent him to the Beur Jail in judicial custody until November 13.

So far seven persons, including the JD-U MLA Anant Singh, have been sent to jail in the reporters' assault case.
