Lalu can Move if he Does Not Like the Crowd: Nitish
Patna: Nov. 6, 2007
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday summoned police constable Deepak Kumar to ask for his version of the story involving the son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi Tej Pratap who was stopped by the police Monday thus raising the ire of the Lalu-Rabri.
According to the constable, the security outside the Chief Minister's bungalow to manage visitors coming for the weekly Janata Darbar did not recognize the son of Lalu and Rabri and stopped his car like other vehicles in the area for security reasons.
Deepak Kumar said that when the officials realized that the boy was the son of Lalu and Rabri, they allowed the car to proceed.
However, that was enough to raise the wrath of Rabri Devi who, carrying a baton in her hand, charged at the constable while threatening to cost his job.
Even then, the situation was somewhat in control but that changed soon when Yadav's OSD Bhola Yadav rushed to the scene hurling expletives and threats while demanding immediate removal of the security cordon from the road "that causes too much inconvenience to the Railway Minister's family", the police officer said.
Deepak Kumar also said Yadav's men beat up a fast-food vendor because he dared to take the sides of the police.
Both parties have lodged FIRs against each other.
Sources said legal actions against Rabri Devi and Bhola Yadav is almost imminent.
The Chief Minister, apparently irked by the Yadavs' daily shenanigans on one pretext or other, advised them to move far away from the Chief Minister's bungalow.
"If those who come here to seek justice and help so much bother the Railway Minister and his family members, they are more than welcome to pick a bungalow of their choice with the exception of 1 Anne Marg and houses occupied by the Patna High Court judges," Kumar said.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) is investigating the case and based on his report the law will take its own course, the Chief Minister said about yesterday's incident.
"For the last 7-8 months, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has been desperately trying to stir up communal uprising in Bihar but people here can see through his nefarious plans denying him his goal of a turbulent state," he said adding Lalu and his cohorts first tried to cause Hindu-Muslim riot in Darbhanga and Sitamarhi.
"When that did not work as hoped, they moved on to Bhagalpur using Aurangzeb to cause communal trouble. Then when that also flopped, they joined the Reshma bandwagon while conveniently adding 'Khatoon' as her surname with the sole intention of coddling the emotions of the Muslims," the Chief Minister said.
