Patna: Nov. 7, 2007

Woman found murdered. Photo by Shashi UttamThe police in Patna on Wednesday, just days after recovering the body of Kajal a.k.a. Reshma that led to a war of words between the state government and the opposition leaders last week, recovered yet another body of a woman who appeared to have been strangled to death and then dumped in a sewerage in Gardanibagh.

As reported, someone notified the Gardanibagh police of an abandoned dead body floating in the sewerage between Road Number 20 and 21.

A casual observation of the body indicated the woman was strangled to death using a rope or some other similar object. Blood was still oozing out of her nose when the police pulled out the body.

The woman, about 5 feet and wearing yellow salwar-kameez, appeared to have been murdered and dumped on late Tuesday night; the police said adding attempts were being made to ascertain the identity of the woman.

Her body was sent to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for the customary post-mortem, the police said.
