JD-U Leader Ridicules Lalu on Development Issue
Patna: Nov. 11, 2007
Janata Dal (U) state president Rajiv Ranjan, a.k.a. Lallan Singh on Sunday while inaugurating a seminar on the completion of the first two years of the Nitish government's term in the state, said that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was also inspired by the development works undertaken by the government and was now talking about progress in the state.
Speaking at the Dashrath Manjhi Hall in Patna Planetarium, Singh questioned the motive of Yadav saying the RJD leader's talks of progress were just an attempt to save his face after the colossal failure of his government during his 15 years rule in the state.
"Where was he during the last 15 years of RJD rule? Even a majority of the projects that he is now taking credits for were initiated by none other than Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his tenure as the Railway Minister under the NDA rule at the Center," the JD-U leader said.
Continuing his tirade against the RJD chief, Singh said it was ironical that while Lalu Prasad Yadav, the product of the Jaiprakash Narayan movement became a national symbol of ineptness and destruction, the other, Nitish Kumar, would come to represent development and all good things in a society.
