SUCI Protest Rally against Nandigram Violence. Photo by Shashi UttamThe Socialist Unity Center of India (SUCI), on Monday, took out a rally in Patna to protest against the West Bengal government led by Buddhdeo Bhattacharya for ordering firing on Nandigram protestors that has left several persons dead in the last few months.

The rally started at Bhagat Singh Chowk and arrived at the Patna Junction roundabout where the protestors burnt the effigy of Bhattacharya calling him anti-poor and pro-capitalists while demanding his resignation on moral grounds.

Blaming the Communist Party of India (M) for the continued violence in Nandigram, SIUC state secretary Shiv Shankar said the party had sold out to the capitalist forces that had no interest in the welfare of those who were being forced out from their lands in the name of Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
