Administration Prepared for Chhath

Patna: Nov. 13, 2007

The district administration in Patna has made special arrangements to direct the traffic for Chhath festival on November 16 and 17 by banning heavy traffic on many roads that lead to various ghats including the Boring Canal Road, Dak Bungalow Road, Chiraiyantand, Exhibition Road, Frazer Road, and Gandhi Maidan.

The traffic curfew on these roads will be in effect starting noon till 7:00 pm on November 16 and between 2:00 am till 9:00 pm on November 17, Patna District Magistrate Dr. B. Rajendra said.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Patna Commissioner Rana Awadhesh Singh assured the devotees of all amenities and conveniences like first aid, drinking water supply, pit stops on all major roads, and adequate security arrangement for the sun-worshippers.
