Bihar Foundation, Prayas Launch Crisis Management Center

Patna: Nov. 13, 2007

The Bihar Foundation UK Secretary Dr.Rajay Narain and Prayas (an NGO) Secretary Mr. Amod Kanth, IPS, jointly launched a "Crisis Management Center" in Samastipur on Monday to promote health, education, and rehabilitation of people in the flood-affected areas in Bihar.

The core committee of the Crisis Management Center includes Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Health Minister Chandramohan Rai, Urban Development Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Sugarcane Minister Nitish Mishra, and Sugarcane Minister and Development Commissioner R. J. M. Pillai.

They also announced name of Mr. R. K.Verma and Mrs Indu Singh as Project coordinator.

At the meeting, the committee members outlined various health and education-related programs being launched in various districts of Bihar. Both organizations will work together in future to achieve the goals, Dr. Narain said.

Bihar Foundation, an UK-based NGO, was recently granted membership of BOND (British Overseas NGO for Development) for its flood relief work carried out in Bihar with the help of Prayas.
