Three Dead after being Hit by Rajdhani Express

Patna: Nov. 13, 2007

In a tragic incident, three members of the same family were mowed down by the speeding Patna-Delhi Rajdhani Express on late Tuesday night while trying to cross the railway tracks between Sadishopur and Neora railway station, railway officials in Patna said on Wednesday.

As reported, 40-yar old Balmati Devi, accompanied by her six-year old son Chhotu and 20-year old nephew Raju, got off the 518 Down Buxar-Patna passenger train at Gandhi Halt to go to Makhdumpur to celebrate Chhath at her parents' house.

In their rush to cross the tracks in dense fog, the three failed to see or hear the oncoming Rajdhani Express and were hit by the locomotive causing their instant, though brutal, death.
