Union Steel Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan, while laying the foundation stone of the steel processing plant of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) at Kumarbagh in Bettiah on Monday accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of turning back on his promises and failing to provide lands for various developmental project in Bihar.

"Nitish Kumar had earlier promised to make 100 acres of land in three days for setting up NIPER in Bihar. Nine months after that, he has not been able to provide even five acres of land. He did the same thing to the proposed steel plant in Vaishali where we are ending up purchasing lands ourselves," Paswan said in his continued tirade against the NDA government in the state.

Reacting to the Chief Minister's criticism of him of not making available enough fertilizer to Bihar farmers, Paswan dared Kumar to prove his allegations and if found to be true, he would tender his resignation from the Central ministry.

"The Center is providing more than enough fertilizer to Bihar but they are kept locked in warehouses and sold in the black market," the LJP leader said turning up heat on the Chief Minister.

Ignoring the proposed set up of Sonalika tractor factory in Fatuha the foundation stone of which was laid by Kumar on Sunday, Paswan said the SAIL unit was the first investment in the state and was destined to spawn more investments in the state.

Paswan, not exactly known for his casteism-free politics, however, a day after proposing sops for the upper caste people with limited means, asked voters to break out of the caste-based politics and choose their representatives based on their developmental records.

The Union Minister also offered health insurance and free medicines to all those living below the poverty lines within next five years.
