RJD behind Kajal Murder Case: Shivanand Tiwari

Patna: Nov. 21, 2007

Janata Dal (U) national spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari on Wednesday dropped yet another bombshell on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leadership saying the party president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav had long, personal relationship with Anil Sharma, the builder and the chief accused in the high profile Kajal, a.k.a. Reshma, murder case.

"The Reshma murder case was part of a very elaborate plan hatched by the RJD leaders to topple the NDA government in Bihar. Sharma and Kajal were merely a pawn in the this deadly game of power," Tiwari said at a press conference in Patna.

The former Lalu friend said that the Railway Minister had made major investments in real estate with the help of Anil Sharma who also did not waste any time in 'upgrading' the jail cell for the former Chief Minister Rabri Devi once it was evident that she would surrender to the police in the disproportionate asset case.

"Reshma murder case was part of a very large conspiracy against the Nitish government hatched by the RJD leaders including Lalu Prasad Yadav who falsely stated that Reshma lived in the Chief Minister's bungalow. Another associate of Lalu went on to say that Reshma was the sister of one of the bodyguards of Anant Singh. All these statements were meant to malign and bring down the NDA government," Tiwari said adding Rabri Devi who, more or less, remains confined in her house after letting the power slip away from her hands in 2005, came out on the street and demanded the necks of Anant Singh and Nitish Kumar on the so-called Reshma case.

Reacting sharply at Tiwari's allegations against the Lalu-Rabri duo, RJD national general secretary Shyam Rajak and general secretary Nihora Prasad Yadav ridiculed the charges saying Tiwari had lost his mental balance and was making up things as he went without providing any substantial evidence to those charges.

The two most trusted members of the close-knit Lalu household, Rajak and Yadav said that there was blood on the hands of Nitish government.

"Everyone is still questioning the sudden death of M. M. Jha, Principal Secretary, Education Department, and the rush to cremate his body. Reshma's body was also disposed off in a hurry as if to suppress the evidences," Nihora Prasad Yadav said.
