Paswan Says his Feelings Hurt; Leads to his Criticism against Nitish Govt.
Patna: Nov. 24, 2007
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan who is counting on his so-called 'Sankalp Rally' to act as the stepping stone to topple the Nitish government, took his own shot at today's events.
"These people are taking credits for things done in Bihar. The fact is, this is a bankrupt government, and had it not been for the central funding, it could not do anything on its own," Paswan said adding he would ask the government to give account of every single penny during his 'Sankalp Rally' later this month.
Paswan said he had no intention of speaking against the Nitish government but recent developments including false allegations against him forced him to bring out truth about it.
"I am not like other Central Ministers like Lalu Prasad Yadav who continue to run their mouths without before thinking about it. The Chief Minister, however, hid the truth and accused me of engaging in cheap politics in the name of development. They even burnt my effigies in Patna. I am not made of stone; I have feelings too. All these things have made me speak against this government and I will expose them for what they are during our 'Sankalp Rally' in Patna," said the Union Minister.
The LJP leader said the entire state machinery had gone to the dogs under the Nitish government.
"They demanded 60,000 tons of fertilizer and I gave the state 81,000 tons. Besides, the Fertilizer Ministry is to give 20,000 tons more by November 25. Yet they claim that I am not helping Bihar," Paswan said.
