JD-U Youth Wing to Launch Anti-UPA Stir in Bihar
Patna: Nov. 26, 2007
The members of the youth wing of the Janata Dal (U) on Monday pledged to launch an all-out protest against the Congress-led UPA government at the Center saying it had failed on all fronts – be it social issues or the protection of the nation from foreign terrorists.
In a meeting of its party workers and district presidents, the president of the JD-U youth wing Sunil Kumar said the UPA policies were against the general mass of the nation.
"The Manmohan Singh government is oblivious to the needs of the people who have to get up every morning and try to make a living under the most harrowing conditions. It refuses to take steps to protect the country from outsiders who are bent on wreaking havoc in India as is displayed by the number of terrorist attacks on our land, it has proven itself incapable of dealing with ultras in the northeast states, and it continues to divide the nation on regional basis," the JD-U leader said.
The party would stage a state-wide protest against the UPA government at all block offices on December 5, Kumar said.
Earlier, the students' wing of the JD-U burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to protest against the ongoing extremist violence in Assam.
