Book Fair Delays Preparation for the Event

Patna: Nov. 26, 2007

Buckling under the threat earlier issued by Pashupati Kumar Paras, the brother of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president RamVilas Paswan, the organizers of the Patna Book Fair, on Monday announced its decision to delay its preparation for the fair until Paswan's anti-NDA government rally was over on December 28.

Organizer and president of the fair Ratneshwar said the organizers did not want to pose any hurdle in the way of Paswan's rally and made a conscious decision to wait until the rally was over.

The fair committee had already started setting up its stalls in the 1.6 lakh square feet on the northeastern end of the Maidan to ensure the opening of the book fair on December 7.

As reported before, Paras, on Sunday during a visit to Gandhi Maidan, expressed his anger at the fences created by the fair organizers and threatened to remove it forcibly if they were not removed by the district administration.
