Hard Work will Soon Bring Results; Says Modi
Patna: Nov. 27, 2007
Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi in Patna on Tuesday said that by April or May of 2008, people would be able to see dramatic changes on the conditions of Patna's roads and any accusation of NDA government not doing its work or being the parties of announcement were just not true.
Works on Patna roads are going on a war-footing scale and it is estimated that by next April or May, people will actually be able to see the difference, he said.
"This government is working relentlessly to bring positive changes in Bihar. The ministers understand their duties and responsibilities and inaction is not an option for them for they know that the public is watching them very closely," Modi said adding in the last two years since coming into power in Bihar, the NDA cabinet had held meeting for a record 105 times as opposed to 55 in the entire 15 years of rule under Lalu-Rabri leadership.
Modi also denied charges of rising corruption within the government saying with corrupt officials being caught and sent to jails almost on a daily basis, a phenomenon unheard of during the Lalu-Rabri rule.
The Deputy Chief Minister did, however, admit that development works were hampered to some extent due to the severe flooding situation in the state.
"Over 1.5 crore were affected by the flood. The government had to act fast and act responsibly. This sidetracked the development projects for a few months but now that is almost over, the government is back on the track and is taking all of its promises very seriously," Modi said.
