Armed Robbers Shoot Brother-Sister in Running Train

Armed robbers on 544 Down Danapur-Rajgir passenger train on late Tuesday night shot and seriously injured a man and a woman under the Bakhtiarpur-Rajgir section of the East-Central Railways before escaping with over Rs. 1 lakh worth of loot, Railway police in Patna said.

The victims were identified as Mohammed Parwez and his sister Ruby Khatoon.

Both were rushed to a hospital in Biharsharif where they were listed in critical conditions.

As reported, about half a dozen armed robbers boarded the train at Bakhtiarpur. At around 10:00 pm when the train was between Bena and Rahui Road railway stations, the criminals jumped into actions and started to loot the passengers at gun and knife points.

When Khatoon showed hesitation in handing over her gold necklace, the criminals shot her and her brother who tried to come to his sister's aid.

The criminals then got off the train at Rahui station and disappeared in the cover of the darkness.

The Railway police is investigating the case.
