After Nitish, Lalu, and Ram Vilas Paswan, it was the turn of Bihar Governor R. S. Gavai to host the annual iftar party at the Governor's mansion where he and his wife personally greeted leaders from all parties including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

Once again, the atmosphere was relaxed and leaders tried to put away their political differences at least for one evening with talks ranging from weather to sports.

The only time the topic turned slightly political was when the Chief Minister asked the state Health Minister Chandra Mohan Rai about the plan to install a life-size statue of former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi inside the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) campus in Patna to which Rai admitted the scheme had become the victim of bureaucracy but he would again look into the matter.

Others who were present on the occasion included former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, Congress state president Sadanand Singh, Parliamentary Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh, Excise and Prohibition Minister Sudha Srivastava, Revenue and Land Reform Minister Ramnath Thakur, Science and Technology Minister Anil Kumar, Food Supply and Commerce Minister Suchitra Sinha, Building Construction Minister Monazir Hasan, Chief Secretary A. K. Chowdhary, RJD leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, ADG Vigilance Neelmani, and DIG Sunil Kumar, among others.
