Nitish Wishes for Communal Peace to Mark Eid

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on the occasion of Eid on Sunday, met with the Phulwarisharif Imam and wished him and the entire Muslim population in Bihar happy and safe festivity while wishing for communal harmony in the state.
"Eid is a festival of social harmony and we hope people of Bihar lived like this forever in perfect communal accord that is one of the most key ingredients in the rebuilding of Bihar," Kumar said.
Other political leaders who paid a visit to the Phulwarisharif mosque included Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders Ram Kripal Yadav and Shyam Rajak, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Upendra Kushwaha.
Kumar also visited the office of Imarat-e-Shariat and wished a happy Eid to its head Sayyed Nizamuddin, secretary Maulana Anisur Rahman, and other priests.
From Imarat-e-Shariat, the Chief Minister headed for the office of the Pasmanda Samaj where he met with its chief and MP Ali Anwar.
Meanwhile, the city remained immersed in the Eid festivity with people offering namaaz at all mosques. The largest crowd gathering, however, was at Patna's Gandhi Maidan where hundreds of thousands of Muslims of all ages offered namaaz and later embraced each other wishing a happy Eid.
The Chief Minister also met with prominent Muslims at Gandhi Maidan where security had been extra tight to avoid any communal disturbance.
