Security Tightened for Durga Puja

District administration in Patna has sounded off high alert to ward off any disturbance during the next few days in view of the Durga Puja while also releasing a list of do's and don'ts for the puja organizers to keep the event safe, peaceful, and crime-free.

With extra security cover for sensitive areas like Sabzibagh, Phulwarisharif, and Patna City, Patna District Magistrate B. Rajendra have sent out messages to all police stations and senior law-enforcement officials to intensify patrolling and keep eyes on any suspicious activity that may potentially dampen the spirit of the Puja.

Meanwhile, to keep the event safe and G-rated, the administration has put a complete ban on the types of songs to be played on loudspeakers, the volume of the sound, and the time between they could be played.

Those who are found flouting the law or disobey the rules will be dealt with severely, the District Magistrate said.

Prohibitory orders have also been used in terms of carrying arms during the entire Puja period.
