Photo by Shashi UttamAt a meeting of Bihar Irrigation Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh and his Jharkhand counterpart Kamlesh Kumar Singh on Tuesday, the two consented to develop bilateral schemes to benefit both states in terms of irrigation and agriculture including extending cooperation on a number of projects already underway.

For plans that need the approval of the Central Government, Bihar and Jharkhand will take up the issues jointly to exert pressure on the Union Ministers, they said.

Kamlesh Kumar Singh said efforts will be intensified to remove any obstacle currently faced by the two states on projects like Uttar Koel Reservoir scheme, Bateshwarnath Canal, Indrapuri Dam, and Mohane Reservoir, among many others.

Bihar state Agriculture Commissioner A. K. Sinha was also present at the meeting.
