While the airport authorities and the Air Deccan has launched an all-out enquiry into Sansriti's death, preliminary investigation indicates the 26-year old was likely ran over by an airport vehicle, officials in Delhi said.

Calling it a possible hit and run case, airport authorities said they were trying to identify the vehicle that may have been involved in the accident though death caused by jet blast or foul play has not been ruled out.

An autopsy also revealed Sansriti was run over by a heavy vehicle, or even an aircraft, officials said.

The victim's family members, however, are not buying the hit-and-run story.

How could someone run over my daughter without having been seen by anyone," said an emotional Arun Kumar, the father of Sansriti who had been employed with Air Deccan since about a year.

A graduate of Indian Institute of Aeronautics, Patna, Sansriti was working in the aviation industry for last six years, family members said.

Her body arrived in Patna at 8:55 am by a Jet Airways flight . She was accompanied by her maternal uncle, his wife, maternal aunt, and two friends.

At their Phulwarisharif residence, friends and family members were trying to console the parents of Sansriti, Arun Kumar Sinha, a psychology professor at G. J. College in Bihta and Dr. Sheila Kumari, the principal at B. N. Collegiate Inter School who were refusing to believe their daughter, who was to be engaged soon to an engineer working with Wipro, was gone forever.

Besides her parents, Sansriti is survived by her elder brother Tushar who works for Bajaj Alliance in Patna and her elder sister Pallavi, an engineer in Bangalore.
