Another Businessman Robbed in Patna

Patna: Oct. 23, 2007

Daring criminals in Patna on late Tuesday evening robbed a business owner of Rs. 1.40 lakh in cash at gun point near the Secretariat gate on Bailey Road.

The incident occurred at around 8:20 pm when Ram Niwas Kumar, the owner of Bhadauni Telecom, a Reliance agent, was returning to his home in Kankarbagh after closing his shop in Anisabad.

As he reached near the Secretariat, four criminals on two motorcycles ambushed him and forced him to pull over his scooter near a dark area. Pulling country-made pistols, the youths snatched the bag that contained Rs. 1.40 lakh and escaped before help could arrive.

Interestingly there was a police patrolling unit just yards away from where the crime was committed but as so many times in the past, they arrived only when the criminals were long gone.
