With unmatched experience and know-how in organizing political rallies, or 'railas' as they have often been described, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) activists, under the sharp vigil of their leader and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, scrambled to give the last minute touch-up of the ground zero, otherwise known as Gandhi Maidan, for the October 28 'Chetawani Rally' against the NDA government in Bihar.

Lalu's handpicked lieutenants including party state president Abdul Bari Siddiqui, former minister Iliyas Hussain, state general secretary Nihora Prasad Yadav, and former state minister Shyam Rajak were seen supervising the preparation work for the rally that they promise to break all previous records in terms of participants.

Later in the evening, Yadav himself arrived at the Gandhi Maidan to inspect arrangements for the rally.

Expressing his satisfaction over the preparation, the Railway Minister appealed to all to maintain peace and harmony during the entire rally period. "We don't want any untoward incident to occur that would give ammunition to our distracters," Yadav said.

The western end of the Maidan is where the stage is being given the final touch for the seating of Yadav, his wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, and a dozen or so of his must trusted leaders while on the eastern end arrangements are being made to accommodate the visitors coming from all parts of Bihar.

Just so people don't confuse the rally from any other party's event, life-size cutouts of the Lalu-Rabri duo, posters and banners carrying their pictures at every few feet now adorns the entire Gandhi Maidan and the main roads leading to the playground that is expected to contain over 30 lakh people as claimed by RJD leaders.
