Ranjan Yadav Accuses Lalu of Destroying Yadav's Image
Patna: Oct. 30, 2007
Former Lalu friend and MP and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Dr. Ranjan Yadav, at a press conference in Patna on Tuesday, once again lambasted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for destroying the 'once clean image' of the Yadav community and taking the state to the brink of economic bankruptcy.
"In 15 years, Lalu Prasad Yadav has tarnished the image of Yadav community to such a degree that it would take years for us to restore our goodwill.
"The fact that not one member of the Yadav community from more than 8,000 blocks came to attend the RJD rally last Sunday proves beyond the shadow of any doubt that Lalu Prasad Yadav is not the de facto leader of the Yadav community. On the other hand, nearly 5 lakh Yadavs will show up for our rally on Nove. 28," Dr. Yadav said with confidence adding all these Yadavs, during the rally, would take a vow to restore the image of the Yadav community to the pre-'90 days.
Ranjan Yadav also accused the RJD chief of promoting dynastic rule in Bihar by refusing to name a non-family member for the post of Chief Minister during the 2005 Assembly election.
"Ram Vilas Paswan made it very clear that the LJP would back RJD in the state Assembly elections if the RJD promoted a Muslim leader for the post of Chief Minister but that was not palatable to Lalu Prasad Yadav who was resolute in making his wife as the Chief Minister of Bihar despite several very qualified Muslim leaders," Dr. Yadav said.
