New, Improved Patna-Delhi Rajdhani Expressed Flagged off

Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, on late Saturday evening at Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna, flagged off the new, improved Patna-New Delhi daily Rajdhani Express built on latest German technology.
The new Rajdhani, besides featuring a number of improvements including less noise inside the compartments, would accommodate more travelers than ever before while boasting a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour, the Railway Minister said during his brief speech.
Railway public relations director A. K. Chandra said that the coaches in the new train is two meters longer than the older Rajdhani Express, yet it is 10% lighter than them. It also prides itself in having several safety features including an anti-climbing provision that would prevent coaches climbing on other coaches in the event of an accident, Chandra said.
Earlier in the day, Yadav also waved the green go-ahead flag to Dehri-Patna Intercity Express amidst the presence of a number of RJD leaders and railway officials at Dehri-on-Sone railway station.
"Today the Indian Railways is at the third place in the world but we are working hard to attain the top position by availing the latest technology in the world of railways," he said.
He also inaugurated the expanded route of Gaya-Kiul passenger train by extending its destination to Jha Jha.
"Dehri would be the home of a new railway factory that would make couples and double-decker bogeys providing hundreds of jobs to the people of Bihar.
Others present on the occasion included Central ministers Kanti Singh and Jai Prakash Yadav, Iliyas Hussain, Shyam Rajak, Akhlak Ahmed, Ram Kripal Yadav, East-Central Railway general manager Girish Bhatnagar, and other senior railway officials.
