Leaders Pay Tribute to Late Satyendra Narayan Sinha

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a host of other Bihar leaders on Tuesday, on the first death anniversary of the former Bihar Chief Minister Satyendra Narayan Sinha, paid their respects to the departed soul at the Annex Hall of the state Assembly by placing garlands at his portrait and showering him with accolades for various works done for the state.
Kumar, in his speech, said he always received blessings from the former Chief Minister despite party differences and announced his decision to celebrate his birth anniversary as a state event on July 12 each year besides pledging to install a life-size statue of the seven time member of the Parliament.
"No one can ever forget the contribution of Satyendra Babu in Bihar. Not only he worked for the state, he also worked tirelessly to ensure India got the respect it deserved in the international arena," the Chief Minister said.
Bihar Legislative Assembly chairperson Uday Narain Chowdhary also spoke highly about Mr. Sinha who died last year at the age of 89.
The family members of the former Chief Minister including his wife and former MP Mrs. Kishori Sinha, son and MP Nikhil Kumar, daughter-in-law and former MP Mrs. Shyama Sinha and a number of other family members were also present at the occasion.
Among the leaders who also paid their tributes to Chhotey Saheb, as Sri Sinha was popularly addressed, were state Water Resources Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh, state Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh, former minister Ramchandra Purbe, former Central Minister Upendra Verma, and state Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav.
