Reliance Mobile Shop in Patna Robbed

Patna: Sept. 4, 2007

While most of the city was busy celebrating Janmashtmi on Tuesday, armed criminals on Ashok Rajpath in Patna barged into a Reliance Mobile shop and escaped with cash, new mobile phones, phone coupons and other electronic items worth over a lakh rupees, Pirbahore police station in-charge Nissar Ahmed said.

The latest incident of crime occurred at Satyawati Services located within the Kulharia Complex on Ashok Rajpath.

As reported, three men carrying pistols entered into the shop on Tuesday afternoon and after taking the shop employees and customers hostage, grabbed Rs. 40,000 from the cash box, several phones and other equipment while also relieving a customer of his 1,000 rupees.

The criminals also beat up a customer when he showed resistance in cooperating with them, the police said adding he had to be rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH).

An FIR has been lodged with the Pirbahore police station as police search for the criminals.
