The state government on Wednesday gave a warm welcome to a five-nation cultural delegate of over 100 Buddhists coming from Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Lao People's Democratic Republic who did not hesitate in expressing their satisfaction over the hospitality accorded by the Nitish government.
"It is a life-long dream of any Buddhist to come to Bihar and walk on the same ground where once Lord Buddha walked and received enlightenment," said the leader of the Cambodian team Hing Kimthan.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar welcomed the visitors at Hotel Maurya where he also presented the guests with Mithila paintings portraying the life of Buddha, a CD and a booklet on Buddha and the Buddhist circuit in Bihar.
Tourism Minister Nand Kishore Yadav and Sports, Art & Culture Minister Janardan Singh Sigriwal also expressed their thanks to the delegate saying they hoped they would go back to their home countries with good memories of Bihar and tell others about the rich culture and tradition the state has to offer to the visitors.
Later, the group visited Patna Museum to see the Buddha urn containing the remains of the Lord himself.
