Six Criminals Arrested from Patna Junction Area

The Railway police in Patna on Thursday nabbed five criminals for running a theft ring on Patna-Barh division of the East-Central Railways relieving dozens of unsuspecting passengers of their belongings and distributing the loot among the gang members.
Railway DSP Satyanarayan Kumar said based on police tips, a team of railway police spotted the gang members sitting near the train track under Chiraiyantand Bridge and sharing the booty from an attaché case and an air bag.
Seeing the law enforcement officials approaching them, the criminals tried to run but were soon apprehended and arrested.
The criminals were identified as Jitendra Kumar, a physically-handicapped man and the ringleader of the band, Nandan Kumar, Mohammed Mushtaq, Mahendra Yadav, and Murmur Rai with most having extensive criminal history, the police said.
The Railway police also arrested one Abhishek Kumar from near Patna Junction and recovered two motorcycles earlier stolen from Barh area.
Keys of several other motorcycles and a master key were also recovered from the criminal's possession, Railway DSP Satyanarayan Kumar said.
All six criminals were sent to jail after initial questioning.
