Bihar CM Acting Like a Bureaucrat, Says Congress Leader
Patna: Sept. 9, 2007
With a snap poll very much a possibility thanks to the left front that has threatened to pull its support to the Congress-led UPA government over nuclear agreement with the United States, Congress treasurer Motilal Vora, after meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday, accused him of acting like a 'bureaucrat' and ignoring the interests of the flood victims in Bihar.
"Nitish Kumar has become the bureaucrat of the bureaucrats. He is acting less like a Chief Minister and more like the Chief Secretary of the state. While hundreds of thousands of flood victims are starving for food and other essential items, Nitish Kumar is talking about rules and regulations showing his detachment with ground reality," Vora said at a press conference.
The Congress leader also certified Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi as an 'incompetent leader who was giving a bad name to the Nitish government.'
Earlier, Vora and Congress national general secretary met with Kumar and Governor R. S. Gavai and requested speedy relief to the flood victims in Bihar and removal of encroachment from properties owned by Congress in Patna.
"The All India Congress Committee has decided to reclaim its properties including the ones in Kadam Kuan and Adalatganj that are currently occupied by illegals" said senior Congress leader Kripanath Pathak.
