RJD Leaders' Actions Reprehensible: Shivanand Tiwari
Patna: Sept. 10, 2007
Janata Dal (U) national secretary and party spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari, on Monday lambasted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national secretary Shyam Rajak calling him a stooge of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav who would not hesitate in politicizing even the death of a person of high integrity like late Madan Mohan Jha for personal and political gains.
Tiwari was responding to Rajak's assertion that some officials in the Nitish government entered into the office of Jha and tampered with his computer and official documents just hours after his death.
"Shyam Rajak is only regurgitating what he had been dictated by his boss Lalu Prasad Yadav," he said adding Jha's honesty and integrity was unquestionable and anyone who suggested otherwise had a political axe to grind against the NDA government.
"I dare Rajak to name those three employees who he claims have said that someone from the Chief Minister's office tampered with Jha's computer shortly after his death," Tiwari said.
"Such accusation against a man of high integrity like Jha is despicable and shows the sickness of the RJD brain," he said.
Meanwhile, Rajak, at a press conference of his own, blasted Tiwari calling him corrupt and a political opportunist.
"While no one is accusing Jha of any impropriety, it is completely fair to question about those who entered into his office soon after his death and tinkered with his computer. When the time comes, I would name those who are the witness to this intrusion," Rajak, the former Energy minister in the RJD government, said.
The RJD spokesperson also accused Tiwari of corruption saying he had amassed huge wealth by dubious means. "He owns several hotels and petrol pumps and when the RJD was ready to expose him of his misdeeds, he quit the party and joined the JD-U," Rajak said.
