Nitish Visits Party Office; Seeks to Strengthen Party
Patna: Sept. 11, 2007
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during his unscheduled visit to the Janata Dal (U) office in Patna on Tuesday, appealed to the party workers to continue their efforts in making the party stronger in Bihar and go to villages and offer relief works in the flood-hit areas.
During his nearly two-hour stay at the party office, Kumar met with a number of party leaders and workers and heard their complaints and suggestions intended to strengthen the party.
"I am committed to bring honor and respect for the workers who are very lifeline of the party," the Chief Minister said.
Advising the party members to go to the remote areas of Bihar and inform the people of various governmental schemes and future plans, Kumar said the villagers should understand the significance of these schemes and how they would affect their social and economic status.
The president of the party's extreme backward cell Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi, dalit cell president Bhudeo Chowdhary, minority cell leader Mohammed Rejaullah, and women's cell chief Lacy Singh were also present during the meet.
