Nearly half a dozen Muslim groups in Patna on Wednesday burnt the effigy of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav calling him anti-minorities while demanding a full account of works done for the empowerment of Muslims during the 15 years of Lalu-Rabri raj in Bihar.

Chanting 'down with Lalu' slogan, the protestors burnt the effigy of Yadav at Dak Bungalow crossing while praising Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for adopting several measures to improve the conditions of Muslims in the state.

Accusing the RJD chief of trying to protect the culprits responsible for the infamous Bhagalpur riot, Bihar Riyasati Rafaul Musalman President Mohammed Rezzullah said Yadav had betrayed the trust of Muslims in Bihar by providing protection to the key accused of the riot Kameshwar Yadav.

Other Muslim outfits that participated in Wednesday's protest included Bihar Riyasatul Jamait-e-Raeen, Bihar Muslim Seva Dal, Dalit Muslim Morcha, and Muslim Backward Front.
