Hindi will Continue to Flourish on its Own: CM
Patna: Sept. 14, 2007
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while attending the 'Hindi Diwas' arranged by the Rajbhasha ministry at Patna Planetarium on Friday, said it was not possible for anyone to stop the rise of Hindi as a language and the state would do everything in its might to publicize its use in official departments.
"Knowledge of English today is helping young men and women find new jobs in sectors today that did not exist a few years ago but that is not going to impact the language of Hindi which continues to flourish on its own thanks to its strong root in the Indian society," Kumar said at the function.
The Chief Minister also said that any foreign company that wishes to invest in India must have a working knowledge of Hindi otherwise it will not be able to communicate with its employees or government officials who they have to deal with on a daily basis.
Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narain Chowdhary, who presided over the function, said India is identified across the globe by Hindi language. "Hindi is our national identity," he said.
Rajbhasha principal secretary Girish Shankar, director D. N. Chowdhary, and Hindi writer Kumar Bimal were also present at the occasion.
A cultural show was organized by the Bhartiya Khadya Nigam to celebrate Hindi Diwas.
