Students of Patna Women's College on Saturday formed a human chain to mark the World Ozone Day by organizing a human chain and holding a painting competition with environment as its theme.

Dr. S. Srivastava, Secretary Eco Task Force, of the college delivered a lecture on the importance of ozone layer of the earth's atmosphere and ways the students could protect it by doing their personal bits.

First and second price in the painting competition went to Prashant Kumar and Jitendra Kumar.

World Ozone Day is celebrated for the last 10 years on 16th September each year to focus attention on the protection of ozone layer at local, national, and global levels. It was on this day in 1987 that the Montreal Protocol was signed by a number of countries concerned about the diminution of the Earth’s protective layer.
