JD-U Seeks Ejection of Lalan Paswan from Bihar Assembly
Patna: Sept. 17, 2007
Janata Dal (U) leaders on Monday appealed to the Bihar State Assembly chairperson Uday Narayan Chowdhary to end the membership of its own party legislator Lalan Paswan for openly engaging in anti-party activities which, they said, falls within the purview of party-hopping.
JD-U state president Rajiv Ranjan, a.k.a. Lalan Singh, said Paswan was not even trying to hide his anti-party activities and under the current regulations, he could and should be thrown out of the state Assembly.
As reported before, Paswan, following the suspension of JD-U former general secretary Upendra Kushwaha, ran a parallel party electing Kushwaha as its new president at a meeting attended by the disgruntled, suspended leaders and their ardent followers.
