Vishal Mega Mart Closed Down by PMC

 Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC), on Thursday, ordered a complete shut down of the Vishal Mega Mart located on Frazer Road until further notification following reports of several infractions of local building codes, officials in Patna said.
The directive comes just days after a riot-like situation broke out outside the mall in which several press reporters, who had gathered there to cover a fire in the building, were roughed up and assaulted by the state police.
Town Commissioner Rana Awadhesh Singh, while talking to reporters in Patna on Thursday, said the building was built in contradiction of the original plan and several building codes, including fire and safety plans, and lack of adequate parking were ignored in the company's rush to open the mall.
Until a court decides on the fate of the shopping complex, the mart will remain closed, Singh said.
