RJD Leaders Criticize CM's Janata Darbar
Patna: Sept. 24, 2007
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national general secretary and spokesperson Shyam Rajak and state general secretary Nihora Prasad Yadav, in Patna on Monday, declared the Chief Minister's weekly 'janata darbar' as a political ploy designed to fool the public 'that has failed to resolve any problem'.
"This whole thing is a big charade meant to give the impression of good governance in the state but the ground realities belie any such claims. People who leave their work and travel to Patna hoping their problems would be solved by the Chief Minister are a frustrated lot and in most cases have to go back to their villages without being able to meet with the Chief Minister. Even those who are lucky enough to see the CM, get nothing but false promises," Rajak said.
"The NDA government has no policy to help the poor but the CM continues to tell lies to those who come to see them," said Yadav.
Echoing the same sentiments, former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi also lashed out at Nitish Kumar saying this janata darbar has given birth to a whole new kind of business involving self-proclaimed brokers who charge hefty amount in fee for filling the form required to meet with the Chief Minister.
"He needs to stop making promises that he knows he cannot keep. Why play with poor people's emotions?" Rabri Devi asked.
