CID Identifies Ten Men in Vaishali Lynching Case

The CID sleuths in Patna, on Tuesday, claimed to have identified ten people in the shocking lynching case in Vaishali district that took place on September 13 leaving ten wandering gypsies dead and one seriously injured while sending a shockwave across the nation.

Based on an intensive and thorough investigation, the CID was able to identify ten men who led the charge against the gypsies belonging to the Nat community, officials said.

According to the report, after a series of break-ins at their home in Rajapakar in Vaishali district, Nawal Kishore Rai and Raj Kishore Rai had been staking out at nights in the hope of capturing the burglars.

On September 13, they saw a group of gypsies walking in somewhat suspicious manner. Soon they raised an alarm and gave a chase to the gypsies. After catching up with them near Dhelphorwa Chowk, the mob then beat them up mercilessly until ten of them died.

One member of the gypsy group escaped death due to intervention by the police.

The police named Nawal Kishore Rai, Raj Kishore Rai, Ram Ishwar Singh, Ganesh Rai, Bhagwat Rai, Rama Rai, Parmanand Rai, Shatrughan Singh, Prem Kumar Singh, and Ranjit Rai as the chief accused in the case.

All ten men were present at the time of lynching and the police will seek help of the sole survivor in confirming the identifications of these men, officials said.

The police is now seeking to obtain non-bailable warrants against all ten men identified as the killers of ten gypsies, the said.
