Process to Hire 5,000 Lecturers for Universities to Begin Soon

Patna: Sept. 27, 2007

The Bihar government is all set to appoint more than 5,000 teachers in all nine universities in the state, Human Resource Development Minister Brishan Patel said on Thursday adding an exhaustive list has been compiled that details all the vacancies in all universities.

The process of hiring lecturers would begin as soon as this November, Patel said while attending a function at JNL College in Khagaul.

The appointments will be confirmed after the eligible candidates are screened by a seven-member recruiting panel led by Governor R. S. Gavai who is also the Chancellor of universities in Bihar.

Out of 5,000 vacant posts, 1,600 are in Magadh University alone. Patna University has close to 350 vacancies, Patel said.
