Tiwari Ridicules Lalu's Statements
Patna: Sept. 30, 2007
Janata Dal (U) national spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari on Sunday, with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, thanked the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for admitting that it was indeed a 'jungle raj' during the long Lalu-Rabri regime when he commented that Bihar was under the spell of a 'maha jungle raj' under the Nitish-led NDA government.
"By organizing the so-called 'Chetawni Rally', the RJD boss is once again reminding the people of Bihar how bad the situation was under his regime and we are thankful to Mr. Yadav for that," Tiwari said.
"People have also not forgotten the vulgar programs sponsored by Lalu during all such RJD rallies," the JD-U leader said adding Lalu's earlier assertion that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was arrogant was laughable and ridiculous.
"Everyone knows who is arrogant and conceited and we know it is not Nitish Kumar. Even today, when Lalu Prasad Yadav appears on the stage, a chair is provided for him to sit while all others are asked to sit on the floor. If this is not an example of being big-headed, I don't know what is," Tiwari said.
