Photo by Shashi UttamDozens of visually-impaired people in Patna on Saturday held a candle-light vigil at Rajendra Chowk near Raj Bhawan to promote national unity and brotherhood while condemning divisive regional politics that has become so prevalent in some of the states.

"It is despicable what has transpired in certain states against the people of Bihar who are being discriminated by their own people in their own country. We want to spread the message of 'first Indian and last Indian" instead my state and your state," said one of the participants in the vigil.

Governor R. S. Gavai, supporting the sentiments of the activists, said the citizens of India were free to live anywhere in the nation without any fear and without having to explain anyone their reason to choose a particular state.
