Fire in Sipara Destroys Hotels. Photo by Shashi UttamIn a major fire in Indrapuri area in Sipara under Beuj Jail police station in Patna on Saturday, two hotels and a cow menagerie were gutted causing losses of properties worth several lakh.

Thanks to quick response by the fire department and help from good Samaritans in the neighborhood, the fire was brought under control before it could spread in other buildings in the area.

While no one was said to be hurt in the incident, the owners of the hotel suspect foul play in the fire.

"My hotel had been closed for over a month for renovation and there have been attempts in the past to force me to shut down my business," said the owner of one of the hotels that was destroyed in the Saturday fire.
