A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad and Justice Jainandan Singh ordered the release of 34 young women while also directing their in-laws to ensure no harm was done to them and the women were taken proper care so they could settle down with their husbands and raise their own family.
The women were brought to the court at 2:00 pm from the remand home in Gai Ghat in Patna. Their parents and in-laws were also summoned to appear in the court for the hearing.
After hearing the accounts of the women, most of them dressed as brides, the court ordered them released while sending nine girls back to the remand home for engaging in violent activities during their confinements.
