Nitish Gets Feedback from Party Workers
Patna: April 22, 2008
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a meeting of Janata Dal (U) activists at his residence in Patna on Tuesday, took feedback from more than 600 leaders about the effectiveness of the party functioning and progress in developmental schemes in their regions.
"Bureaucrats and red-tapism are the biggest hurdles in the path of development. Senior officials are sitting on the files and are misleading their bosses about any progress, or the lack thereof," said the block officers at the meeting.
The party soldiers also blamed the government officials for becoming complacent and too laid back after remaining posted at the same place for a number of years.
Kumar took note of all the complaints and encouraged them to blow whistle on such officials who were corrupt or inefficient.
He also asked them to continue to spread the core message of the party and go to all hamlets and blocks to apprise the villagers of the developmental projects undertaken by the government.
