Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday garlanded the statue of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh, the 18th century freedom fighter hailing from Bhojpur district, to mark his decisive victory over the British troop 150 years ago today.
Kumar was accompanied by a number of NDA leaders and supporters including former Chief Minister of Bihar Jagannath Mishra, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh, Information and Public Relations Minister Ramnath Thakur, legislator Renu Kumar and many others.
Meanwhile, a number of functions in honor of Babu Kunwar Singh were organized by other political parties including the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Samajwadi Party, Nationalist Congress Party, Samata Party, and Rajput Mahasabha – each eulogizing the leader who successfully led his own private army against the British in his fight against foreign rule.
