More Legal Trouble for Herbal Queen
Patna: April 26, 2008
The daughter-in-law of 'Herbal Queen' Shahnaz Hussain, in Patna on Saturday, filed a case against her celebrity mother-in-law holding her morally responsible for her husband's suicide death alleging months of mental torture and suffering that followed Shahnaz's second marriage.
Presenting a note written by Sameer nearly five months before he committed suicide by jumping off from a third floor balcony in Patna, his wife Rabia Hussain filed a petition with a Chief Judicial Magistrate saying Shahnaz was responsible for her husband's death who, along with her, was mentally tormented forcing him to leave his mother's house and come live with her parents in Patna.
As reported, in a letter dated July 24, 2007, Sameer Hussain wrote that in the event of his death, his mother should be held solely responsible and along with her new husband, sister Nilopher, and nephew Sharif Zubaik, must not be allowed to see his dead body.
The letter also allegedly reveals Shahnaz's intense hatred for Rabia and her children and her underhanded tactics to seize assets owned by her and her husband.
As reported previously, 35-year old Sameer Hussain on January 7 this year killed himself after jumping off from the third floor balcony of an apartment building on Exhibition Road.
Last month the state government recommended a CBI probe in the case after Shahnaz met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar requesting a full and fair investigation in the controversial death of her son.
